LED and Visible Light Detector

The Opto-Probe is a visible light sensing device used to monitor the activity of a LED or other visible light source. The Opto-Probe sensor requires 5VDC that is supplied by the Control Module for proper operation and produces a logic low when light is detected. The sensor will detect within the range of 400 to 1200 nm and is ideal for detection ranges from IR to blue. The Opto-Probe sensor is provided with a 3 ft. long connecting cable that is terminated in a 3.5mm stereo connector. All activity of the monitored LED or light source is repeated by a LED located in the top of the probe to assure that the visibility of the monitored light source is not lost. The Sensor is attached to the light source to be monitored by means of a 1/2" diameter foam adhesive ring attached to the bottom of the sensor and the control module is attached using the supplied hook & loop material. The Opto-Probe Control Module provides regulated power to the sensor and has bifurcated relay contact output (form C) with a rating of 2 amps at 48 VDC. The power requirement for the entire system is 9-12VDC @ 55ma when activated, 3ma quiescent. A 9VDC unregulated power module is provided. The Opto-Probe sensor may be purchased as a system with it's Control Module or separately for custom applications.
