The Multi Station Relay Adapters (MSRA & MSRA-RM) are a microprocessor based, three stereo channel accessory for the DASDEC™ EAS/CAP encoder-decoder, allowing a single unit to expand the number of individually controlled stations from a one to up to a total of four. All commands and EAS audio are supplied by the DASDEC™, and the MSRA interprets these commands to select the appropriate station (or stations) for EAS broadcast.
The MSRA is compatible with all of the DASDEC™ models with the appropriate software upgrade (V2.5-x or higher). The required DASDEC™ upgrade is available on a limited basis until the next full system release. The upgrade is free for registered DASDEC™ users who have installed a Plus Package, or MultiStation™-2 or MultiStation™-5 keys to their systems. The MSRA connects to the DASDEC™ rear panel via the supplied RS232/audio cable along with the EAS audio from the “Auxiliary Audio Output” connection. The MSRA provides a multi-turn recessed front panel “ Input Gain” trim potentiometer and multi-turn individual “Station Gain” controls for controlling the active stereo distribution amplifier sections with balanced output levels capable of greater than +12dBm into a 600 ohm load impedance. A recessed front panel “Test” switch provides a handy aid for setting audio levels.
An optically isolated open collector “Tally” output for user control applications is provided and is active when any or all of the 3 MSRA controlled stations are activated, and remains active until the end of the EAS activation.
The MSRA is transparent
to program audio due to it’s loop-through design, and uses 6 high
quality bifurcated gold over silver nickel contact sealed relays, one
relay for each left and each right channel circuit. The MSRA also is designed
to remain transparent to program audio during any power failure condition.
All station inputs and outputs are connected using large 5mm Eurostyle
screw type pluggable connectors for wiring ease and connection reliability.
The internal power supplies, precision regulators, precision audio distribution
amplifier sections and quality components throughout assure long life
and trouble free operation of the MSRA. No external power supplies (wall
warts) are required. Front panel LED indicators are provided for “Power”
and “Station” left and right audio relay activation during
an EAS event.
Both 2U rack mount systems (MSRA-RM) and table top units (MSRA) are available.

The
Multi Station Relay Expander (MSRE & MSRE-RM) is a microprocessor
based, six form "C" relay output accessory for the DASDEC™/CAP
EAS encoder-decoder. Primarily designed to control AES Digital Routing
Switches and Ethernet Switches or Routers for digital audio control from
your DASDEC™, and expands the number of individually controlled
stations from a single DASDEC™ to up to a total of four stations.
While there are two relays for each station assignment, they may be programmed
to operate individually if desired. The
DASDEC™ and MSRE work together to select the appropriate relays
for control of the external switching or routing devices.
